FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Can you photograph my cat, horse, or other animal? Absolutely. The same fee structure applies for cats and horses.
Q. Can I be in the photo with my animal? Absolutely, I don't discriminate against humans.
Q. How are you different from other photographers who take pictures of animals? For one, I give a portion of every shoot to animal charities that help abused and neglected animals. I believe in giving back and the more I shoot the more I can give back which makes me feel great. Also, I don’t take typical snapshots. I capture the personality of your pet; because no two animals are exactly the same. If you have your photo taken with your pet I love to capture both of your personalities together interacting, as opposed to everyone having the same photo of themselves just sitting there with their pet. Also, everyone who has a studio shoot gets my signature “tongue” photo if they want one. They’re just too cute!
Q. Is studio better than location or vice versa?
No, both are absolutely fantastic, it’s just whatever you prefer. Also, take into account the personality of your pet. If he or she is super high energy then location might be a better choice. For example, when I was back east visiting my mother, I took photos of her dog playing in the ocean because that’s his most favorite thing to do in the world. I took some funny photographs which really captured his energetic and silly personality.
Q. How do I book? Call me anytime. 505-480-6099. I book by appointment 7 days a week.
Q. What time of day do you shoot for on location sittings? In the morning or later in the afternoon. The light is ideal for shooting at those times. If you prefer studio photographs then time of day doesn't matter. I shoot both on location and in my studio.
Q. What type of photographs do you take?
I shoot a variety of different styles including funny photos, beautiful classic portraits, detail and abstract shots. Also, action shots if your dog is active, and photographs that capture the unique personality of your dog. Please feel free to tell me what you love best so I’m sure to get extra of that type of photograph for you.
Q. How many photographs do you take?
I take an unlimited number so basically as many as it takes to have a complete session.
Q. What do I need to prepare my dog for the photo shoot? I recommend that your dog is taken for a walk before the shoot if we shoot in the studio. This helps make them more receptive to being photographed.
Q. Do I need to bring anything? We like to have a couple of the dog's favorite toys with them to include as props in the photographs and to help get their attention for portraits. If your dog gets cold easily, you might want to bring a blanket or something that will provide warmth. Dog treats can also be helpful.
Q. Should I have my animal groomed? Sure, if you like it's always nice to brush them before the shoot and give them a bath if needed.
Q. What if I have two dogs? That's fine, the fee structure is the same. If you have more than two dogs then there is an increase in fee. Please email or call for details.
